Corn and sorghum from the United States, sesame from Ethiopia, coffee from Rwanda, honey from Australia, as well as tomato sauce from Xinjiang, China, and soybeans from Heilongjiang... The Green Agriculture Chain Exhibition Area at the 2nd Chain Expo showcased unique agricultural products from around the world, attracting exhibitors and visitors to stop and linger.
At the exhibition booth of Dunhuang Seed Industry, a series of independently developed corn seeds were exhibited. The company's relevant person in charge stated that seeds are the "chip" of agriculture, and China's bowl contains Chinese grain. Independent innovation of seeds is the only way. He told reporters, 'Yesterday, after listening to our introduction on fighting against diseases and high-yielding corn seeds, a purchaser from Africa took away a bag of seed samples on the spot. This shows that Chinese seeds are also playing a positive role in ensuring global food security.'.
Agricultural giant Syngenta not only showcased many widely recognized "good breeds" and "good products" that solve agricultural diseases, increase yields, enrich nutrition and taste, but also demonstrated leading agricultural planting technology. According to booth staff, high protein soybeans from South America, high oil sesame seeds from Ethiopia, G1 grade specialty coffee, and high oleic sunflower oil from Argentina are all reaching Chinese consumers' tables through Syngenta's global agricultural value chain business.
Overseas agricultural exhibitors also bring home viewing products. Multiple African sesame varieties were exhibited at the booth in Ethiopia. The staff told reporters, "Sesame is an important agricultural export product in Africa. Ethiopia produces sesame due to its suitable climate, which is popular among Chinese consumers. China has also become the largest importer of sesame in Ethiopia. This year's Chain Expo will focus on showcasing sesame and other agricultural products, hoping to further explore the Chinese market
At the booth of the American Grain Association, various grain crops were exhibited. The staff said, "China is an important destination for grain exports from the United States. Corn and sorghum are used for feed and brewing, and we plan to contribute to Sino US agricultural cooperation through the Chain Expo platform." The American Soybean Association exhibited soybeans from the United States. The largest single export product of the United States to China is soybeans. In 2023, the United States will export more than 26 million tons of soybeans to China, worth over 15 billion US dollars, "said the agricultural commissioner of the U.S. Embassy in China's Agriculture Division at the U.S. Soybean Supply Chain Promotion Conference held during the Chain Expo on the morning of the 27th." Soybean trade brings enormous value to both the United States and China, bringing employment and income to rural areas in the United States. We hope that more American agricultural products will continue to be exported to China
Cargill also showcased its complete agricultural supply chain business from the procurement, storage, trading, processing, and distribution of grains and oilseeds. The staff told reporters that Cargill has formed a stable supply chain with many Chinese companies during its development in China. Cargill's participation in the Chain Expo for two consecutive years reflects its emphasis on the Chinese market and its hope to further consolidate and expand cooperation with Chinese enterprises.
