According to data provided by the Russian Agricultural Products Export Development Center to Sputnik News Agency, Russia's barley exports to China exceeded 440000 tons in the first eight months of this year.
China ranks third among Russia's barley importing countries, accounting for 7.9% of the total export volume. Ranked first is Saudi Arabia (accounting for 30.1%, approximately 1.7 million tons).
Ranked second is Iran (17.0%). In the first eight months of 2024, Russia exported approximately 5.6 million tons of barley, a year-on-year increase of over 30%.
Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lute stated that Russia has the ability to export 60 million tons of grain this agricultural year.
Lute said at a cabinet meeting chaired by Russian President Putin, "We have a lot of surplus grain, so we have the ability to export 60 million tons of grain with a harvest of 132 million tons
