Dmitry Patushev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, stated that as of August 1st, Russia has harvested nearly 64 million tons of grain, equivalent to 40% of the planned harvest area, which is twice the progress of the harvest in the same period last year.
He added that farmers in 55 regions have started harvesting new crops.
Despite extremely challenging climate conditions in 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture maintains its grain harvest forecast unchanged at 132 million tons, lower than the 144.5 million tons in 2023; The estimated wheat production is 85 million tons, compared to 92.8 million tons last year.
